Profile: Lina Li is a Senior Manager at adelphi in the field of carbon markets and carbon pricing with over ten years of working experience.
Experience: Lina Li has been managing the CB ETS programme on the adelphi side since 2018. She has been involved in the organisation and implementation of various training activities as well as in the conceptualisation and development of different training and information materials. Prior to her position at adelphi, Lina conducted research on the climate diplomacy strategy of Germany as a German Chancellor Fellow of the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation. Between 2011 and 2014, as a consultant for Ecofys in Beijing and Cologne, she managed projects on emissions trading, domestic climate and energy policy, and international climate policy. Prior to that, Lina was a trainee at a Chinese multi-national energy company.
Expertise: Carbon pricing developments in Asia (especially China), functioning and implementation of emissions trading systems, key design elements of ETS (such as cap setting, allowance allocation, offsets, market oversight, compliance), linking of carbon markets, Chinese institutions and governance of energy and climate policy (including ETS).

Profile: Kai Kellner has been a Consultant at adelphi in the field of carbon pricing and carbon markets since 2018.
Experience: Kai Kellner has been managing the CB ETS programme on the adelphi side together with Lina Li for three years. He was involved in the organisation and implementation of various CB ETS training activities as well as in the conceptualisation and development of different training and information material.

Profile: Baran Doda is Head of Programme Carbon Markets and Pricing at adelphi.
Experience: Baran Doda has acted as an expert in a range of carbon pricing capacity building activities with a focus on the design, functioning and implementation of domestic carbon pricing instruments such as ETS and carbon taxes. His contributions to capacity building activities also draw on his recent work on market stability instruments in emission trading systems, the assessment of carbon pricing potentials in Asia and Africa, analysis of carbon leakage risk and the role of carbon pricing across different sectors of the economy. Prior to joining adelphi Baran was a Research Fellow at the Grantham Research Institute at the London School of Economics and Political Science where he conducted research on the economics of climate change; design of market-based policy instruments; international and interconnected carbon markets; geoengineering; and the relationship between GHG emissions and the macroeconomy.
Expertise: Design and implementation of carbon pricing instruments, linkages between emissions trading systems and market-based decarbonization policies particularly for energy and industrial sectors.

Profile: Alexander Eden is an Advisor at adelphi working in the field of carbon markets and pricing.
Experience: Alexander Eden has been contributing to the capacity building activities of the CB ETS as an expert since 2016. His focus lies in ETS design and implementation, carbon pricing and broader climate policy in the land use and forestry sectors, domestic offset program design, and international market mechanisms. Prior to joining adelphi, Alexander worked at the Potsdam Institute for Climate Impact Research in the field of climate change impacts and vulnerability, and at Germanwatch e.V. analysing REDD+, forest conservation, and international trade flows.
Expertise: Design, functioning and implementation of emissions trading systems, ETS and climate policy developments in the Asia-Pacific region, carbon pricing for land use sectors, distributional impacts of carbon pricing, international market mechanisms.

Profile: Denis Machnik is a Senior Manager at adelphi in the field of climate policy.
Experience: Denis has acted as an expert in a range of carbon pricing capacity building activities focusing on the voluntary carbon market, offset project design and use in domestic carbon markets as well as international market mechanisms. He also advises ministries and development agencies on the implementation of the Paris Agreement, the development of low-emission strategies and the potential of climate financing. Before joining adelphi, Denis was a Project Manager at the Climate Protection Organisation atmosfair gGmbH. There he was responsible for CDM (Clean Development Mechanism) and Gold Standard for the Global Goals-certified climate mitigation actions in Kenya, Tanzania, India, and Honduras and developed innovative technology projects worldwide.
Expertise: Design and implementation of climate protection measures in the electricity, transport, and waste management sectors, as well as in the monitoring and reporting of achieved emission reductions based on international standards. Denis has work experience in South Asia, East Asia, and East Africa.

Profile: Anastasia Steinlein is a Consultant at adelphi in the field of carbon markets and pricing.
Experience: Anastasia contributes to the organization, conceptualization and implementation of capacity building activities in the CB ETS programme. Anastasia is also involved in the conceptualization and development of different training and information material. Before joining adelphi, Anastasia worked for the President of the European Court of Human Rights and as a legal officer and speechwriter for Laurent Fabius, President of the French Constitutional Council and former President of COP21/Paris Agreement in 2015. There she gained solid expertise in international climate law and diplomacy, with a focus on ETS.
